جنبش زنان فانوس بودا

A lantern for every girl who dares to learn

We are Afghan women standing together for girls' education and women's freedom — carrying the light of knowledge forward, even through the darkest times.

Who We Are

Founded in 2025, rooted in courage

Fanoos Buddha Women Movement was born from a simple belief: no decree can extinguish a woman's right to learn, speak and live freely. Fanoos means lantern — a light carried by hand from one home to the next.

Our members are teachers, students, mothers and advocates inside Afghanistan and across the diaspora. Together we keep classrooms alive, amplify women's voices and document the realities facing Afghan women today.

When one woman carries a lantern, she lights the way for many who walk behind her.

وقتی یک زن فانوس را بردارد، راه را برای بسیاری روشن می‌کند.
